We're heading to DIA this afternoon to pick Dylan up so can be the surprise DoorDash delivery guy for the PuddinFace' 23rd this week.

I dread this drive, but at least we only skirt the city to get there.

Puddin' Face is 23?  Already?   :eek5:  Now I feel a little better about my oldest turning 40 last month....

Weather here in sorta sunny north central Florida is sorta sunny after a week of thunderstorms and rain.

It worked...Puddin's roommate made a fake call to Popeyes. Dylan was the delivery guy...

Meanwhile - back to our regularly scheduled program - "complaining about the weather". Summer has struck!! 85 degrees F.......hotter than the surface of the sun for us Northerners.
Oh yeah....it is very dry and windy......excellent breeding ground for wildfires!

Actually, it peaked at 90!  When last I visited the Fubar World Headquarters it was 104 in the shade  - that was brutal!!

Someone initiated August 1.0 ( very hot, very dry and very windy)....

We were just starting Spring....trees and grass were just starting to turn green....now this!!

Onepoint

Well sorry my farting cows broke the weather, maybe I should raise bugs?

balsum fractus

Well this wildfire situation is getting too real! We have one a couple miles south of us, and another a few miles north.  Both areas have evacuation orders..........

Onepoint

Man, pretty early in the year for that stuff.  We have picked up about an inch of rain the last week, but Lyman just 7 miles away as the crow flies had almost 2 in an hour, had street flooding up to the tops of wheels on cars.

balsum fractus

The situation has improved...the fire to the south of us is out, and the one to the north is controlled. Evacuation orders have been cancelled.

I tell ya....it was pretty tense here last night...being caught in the middle like that! It has cooled down and we are supposed to get showers tonight and tomorrow......not much, but it will help!

Great! always a relief with a fire threat.

They are saying we could get some heavy rain, even issuing flood warnings already, if so it'll be the 1st time in 3 years to have it set in and give us a soaker, but I will believe it when I see it.
