Mid 60s today, mid 70s tomorrow, Friday who knows, low of 18° forecast for Sunday morning.

Found my touque and my choppers, I'm good 👍

Looks like our non winter is taking a break for some real stuff, not snow or ice so much, but the clod is supposed to creep in. Today we get to 30, tomorrow we get to 10, maybe, and -6, not accounting the wind that's supposed to be 20mph or so. But then jumps back up to 14 for a high the next couple days, then supposedly the Canadians come and take their weather back to send to China I guess, and we get back to what has been normal all winter.

Not the worst we have seen, maybe this year, but as things go, not so bad.  Still don't like it.

Looks like it's going to get a little chilly here over the weekend.  We're being warned about single digit wind chills, death and destruction.  I think the weather guessers are doing their best to scare the crap out of everyone, so the panic buying at the grocery stores is on once again.  It amazes me how stupid people can be.  It's only going to be cold for a day or two.

That said, we here do have a phobia about power outages after what happened a few years ago.  The state assures us all the problems have been fixed, but that's like all the political candidates telling you how they're going to fight for you if they get elected.  I can still remember sweeping water and hauling wet carpet and drywall (it was about 20 degrees that day) out of my daughter's house after pipes broke and flooded it.  The power was out for three days here, and for a week in some places.  And being a desert rat, I hate being cold!

Carl and Stetto, stay warm.  I think it's going to be worse for you than it will be here in the swamp.

If we don't lose power, all will be great.  We are predicted to be 6 degrees Sunday morning! It is 50 and raining right now, supposed to drop this evening and get up to 1/2" of freezing rain before turning to sleet and then snow.

The pipes in this house were replaced a decade ago with Pex, so no freeze worries here, even the outside hose bibs, though I removed the hoses just because.

I've started taking 5 mile walks every morning the last month, and rain hasn't stopped me. Ice might, I didn't bring my tree climbing cleats to Texas. Or my skates, which I sadly had to leave behind in Colorado.

This all needs to be history by middle-late next week. I'm driving up to the Springs to support my cancer patient buddy through a rough surgery. They told him he was in for THREE MONTHS of recovery, so I may be reporting weather from there for a time.

We have pex as well, did that about five years ago to replace old galvanized pipe.

Winter is here, for now, anyway.  44 degrees and falling, light rain, and north wind 10 - 18 mph.  I think what's going to get us is the water on the roads freezing overnight.  Half the freeways are chock full of overpasses, and since people here can't drive even in clear sunny conditions, the Monday commute ought to be pretty interesting.  The best part is that I no longer have to participate!

Found my parka, and I know I have gloves around here somewhere... :disturbed:

It's been 30° here for a couple hours, dropped to 28° over the last half hour.   Been dry since an inch & a half of rain overnight. But....

Carl can tell us better what's headed our way tonight.

Feelin' just a little Minnesota...

Well, we got 3/4" of rain yesterday, then the cold got here. Temp dropped from 50 to 28 in just over an hour.  Had some freezing rain, but not bad,  turned to sleet and light snow.  Got up this morning it was 10 degrees, light snow falling.  We probably have 2 inches on the ground.  High for today was 12, currently 10 with a projected low of 4.  High tomorrow is supposed to be 24, we will see.

stetto

21° here now, maybe a quarter inch of white on everything. Only vehicle I've seen on the streets this morning is a guy in camo Carhartts on a 4 wheeler.

Glad it's getting it out of the way now, I'm supposed to head to Colorado later this week.

33 here right now, on our way to a high of 38.  Wind chill is at 18 because of a 15mph north wind.  It's stopped raining and there are actually patches of blue showing through the cloud cover.  This is supposed to be past us by late this evening.

Sounds like I have shared enough to make us all miserable.  It was -14 when I went to bed, no wind though thankfully. Sitting at 6 right now and light snow, maybe have 1/2", supposed to get all the way up to 10, but I doubt it since its supposed to fall off by 2 and be -8 again tonight.  Tomorrow they say 40s, but its coming with wind so will feel like teen most likely. Gotta love winter.

No we don't!!   :eek5:

I haven't lived through a winter without below freezing temperatures and snow since 2002.

I still haven't... :icon_confused:  :sadness:

Onepoint

They say this is the last day of this, I hope so, because its -31 windchill right now.

Maybe next year!   :disturbed:

23 degrees last night, wind chill down to 13.  We lost water for most of the night when one of the pumping stations in the 'hood froze, but it's back on this morning.  One more night of this s--t and hopefully we'll be done with it until next January.
