Welp, ol' Stetto killed his accident-free streak this morning...First time since January of 1979. Yessir, this fat old dwarf went for a walk in 19° ambient temps and slipped and landed on his tuckus on the skating rink that was the street in front of the house. Smacked the back of his soft skull too.

No damage, at least no more, but he keeps talking about hisself in the 3rd person...

Want the go-fund-me address, anyone?

:icon_lol:  Sorry buddy, but like for us all, stupid doesn't pay, unless you're Antifa.

Are we gonna have to send you back to Minnesnowta for winter refresher training?   :icon_biggrin:

Is it just me, or are sunrises slower in winter?  Sun came up an hour ago and is just now clearing the trees.  In summer, that takes about 30 seconds and the temps go from 80 to 100 just as fast.  Right now, it's 26 degrees. An hour ago, it was 25 degrees.  Sheesh!

So then, I got a question: What is the definition of an "historic storm"?

I remember hurricane Camille being the benchmark of "historic" storms for a few decades. And blizzards from the 1800s and early 20th century were spaced one every 10 to 20 years...

But now it seems like, if it's Tuesday,  we either just went through an historic storm, are in an historic storm or one is bearing down on us. I understand media sensationalism, but it's desensitizing to abuse the verbiage.

BTW, my use of "an" instead of "a" before "historic" is a knee-jerk syntax habit on my part. Apologies to anyone who may cringe  :disturbed:

Roller coaster winter this year.  66 and severe clear right now, absolutely beautiful day.  That will all end over the weekend when we drop back into the 20s overnight.  At least nothing frozen is falling from the sky...

jetmex

78 and severe clear.  This more like it!

Got up 82 here today, absolutely beautiful, no wind, bright sunshine.

Onepoint

Yeah we got to 65 calm and sunny as well. I came down with some sort of bug overnight so didn't get to enjoy it much, but at least it wasn't hip deep snow and blowing and have to deal with that and not feel good.

wtxsflyr

Hope you get to feeling better quick. I got a sore throat and head cold last week but several extra doses of ivermectin knocked it out quick.

Onepoint

Yeah was just some weird 24 hour thing, never had sore throat or upset stomach, just chills an fever.  Feel fine today.

jetmex

76 degrees today, been really nice this week.  We're going to have a wet weekend, then back into the upper 70s for a while.  I guess someone up north finally got the gate closed.... :disturbed:

Onepoint

Yeah, its ben nice mostly here too.  Relatively warm, so warm in fact that we are acclimated to 50s, so when the 40s roll in it feels cold now, and not a drop or flake to be seen, and nothing even threatening for the next week or so.

wtxsflyr

It started raining here sometime after midnight. We are currently showing about an inch and a half, with more on the way.

jetmex

That's probably the storm that coming my way, Carl.  We're supposed to get a lot of rain and high wind later tonight.

I guess I dodged a bullet down there. I've been in CO Springs since Jan 28. We've had nothing resembling weather but sun and warm days partnered up with quiet chilly nights. My buddy is slowly recovering from his surgery, I'll be here well into March before finding another weather station to report from...
