A bit of a highlight from the everyday humdrum routine....I got to fly with Mike twice this weekend. First was tagging along on a scheduled passenger run yesterday afternoon in the Kingair. It was a nice day for a flight, but the destination was socked in, so I got to watch him do a full IFR approach in icing conditions....touched down smooth as a feather!

This morning he calls up and says he has to take the 1900 up for a test flight, do I want to come? - Silly question!!!  This time I took my camera, and also my Garmin GPS (from my truck). I wanted to see if it would work in an airplane.......it does!  We got up to 24,000' and 317 mph (fastest I have been for quite some time!!) It was cloudy down here where us mortals spend our time, but nice and sunny up at altitude... It is a much smoother, and more comfortable than the Kingair, and a bit quieter, and lots faster......
Unfortunately, it wasn't a great picture taking day, but here are a couple

This is an earlier picture of the same airplane in nicer weather....

That is pretty dang cool.  I bought a bunch of lumber to rebuild our porch, and Vicki bought a milk cow so I have to add onto her milk shed.  But instead of doing that, I am still messing around putting up hay or was until it started top drizzle this morning.   :sadness:

Somehow flying sounds so muych better than any of that.  :icon_biggrin:

oh, I understand, I have one of those too!  But this diversion seemed a lot more attractive than the huge list of pre-winter chores that have to  get done...... :icon_wink:
