That's awesome.  Texan?  Come on tell the details.

Yup.. A young one, built in 1952. The owner is a former military instructor and airshow pilot who flies with Mike. I should have a video done tonight...

That is cool,  we went to an airshow in the small town of Ranger, TX this summer.  They had a Texan that you could buy rides in.  600.00 for a 45 minute flight and you got to fly it for 30 of that.

This one was a bit cheaper $500 per hour. ( just to cover expenses)
I got to fly it... Normal flying is quite easy..it is very light on the controls, but needs rudder in the turns. I let him do the fancy stuff- the roll rate is phenomenal.
Just uploading the video now...

here is a short video of the flight.... The impressive part, I can't post, but it may have involved a river inspection in a canyon about the same height as that runway pass, but with twists and turns....that was a rush!!

Way cool.   Many years ago before we moved up here I paid for a 1/2 hour in a stearman.  That was a blast too,  that was like 89 or so and cost something like 90 dollars!

A ride in an an open cocpit Stearman is way cool too!,

Probably cost a bit more today though....

Still, they are once in a lifetime experiences which create memories that last.......
