What a Drag it is Growin' Old...

Thought I'd get a couple years without a major medical situation since that distal bicep rupture in 2015.

I just got home from the treadmill & an echocardiogram, had 7 blood samples and an EKG taken yesterday. They're lookin' for something to cut off or install, I just betcha....

...and if the doc mentions "bypass" just one more time I'm gonna knock his pecker in the dirt...

Yep, not good. Sister in law had by-pass surgery yesterday.

Biggest problem I have is the floor gets farther and farther away every time I have to tie my shoelaces......

Well, knock on wood, other than becoming an anti social, anti govt curmudgeon shaking my cane at young people, I have skipped anything major medically for a while.  But take care of that heart thing, you don't get along to good without it. 

Were you feeling poorly, or they just catch it by chance?

Started having trouble catching my breath over the simplest of tasks. Blood test showed an extreme high level of ferritin, so today I got a call from the regional cancer clinic wanting blood samples, and yeah, my cholesterol is a wreck waiting to happen.

And I'm gaining weight walking past a Jack in the Box. They're checking for clogged arteries, hardened arteries, liver disease/cancer and something called hemochromatosis, which supposedly ties all the above together AND messes with the pancreas, hence the sudden weight issues.

I was already anti social, anti government, pro curmudgeon and antagonistic to the kiddies.

My YOUNGER brother had a pretty massive stroke just before Thanksgiving, still hasn't regained a flipping thing on his left side. I guess I just started paying closer attention to what was squeaking the loudest in me....

Hey Carl, wish your sis-in-law the best for me. I still plan to come alleviate you of a hog or two, Terrin says ok, so be on the lookout.

...Unless they do a bypass. Then give me a couple weeks...



*Oh, and unless they call me beforehand with dire news, I have a followup with my personal GP on the 14th. The closer I get to that without a call, the less nervous I'll be.

She doing well, even though they couldn't complete the by-pass on the "widow maker". Every time they attempted it, 3 times, the arterial graft would fail! They finally quit trying and hooked it back up like it was. They are going to put a stent in it at a later date.  We have plenty of hogs, so come on. I have trapped 116 so far, with 83 of those being trapped in February!!

I'm not complaining either, except Pat took my cane when she had her knee surgery a few years ago and never gave it back, so I have nothing to shake at the kids.  Pretty much medical drama free here, though I sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies snapping crackling and popping when I get up in the morning   

Don't let any of that stuff go too long Stetto, especially if there's history in your family of any of that.  There are still Fubar reunions to attend...

Well the doc thought it was worth a call to let me know I have the ticker of a fifty seven year old....Which is how old I be...

No. Cardio. Issues. That's out of the way....*whew*

Now I wait on this ferritin result, which was 5 times normal....Apparently more is not better in that regard.

I can start eating bacon & ribs without that guilty pang again!

Good news for me after 3 years of rabbit food, low sodium, low sugar, no desserts and reading the ingredient labels on every food product.....my blood chemistry is back to nromal! Now I have to keep it there....
