Getting healthier.....only 2 active cases in our county. Zero in the county to the north of us. BigCity (population 1.5 million) to the west,  has only 61 active cases.

Which is perfect timing for the government to announce that they have received their huge order of face masks, and will provide one to every citizen!! .......which should make the paranoid ninja surgeons very happy 🙄

Seems like masks are yesterdays news here, now its testing,  can hardly wait until thats mandatory.

Gov'ner Xi here in MN is playing the template: Every 2 weeks he extends his lockup. We're now to June 1, though even the stupid among the citizenry now know better. He's going to do this over and over until either 1) we haul him out and dangle his union stooge ass from a lamp post, or 2) mass defiance has him over the edge into armed enforcement, like is already done elsewhere.

And being as T's accounting service is keeping busy facilitating PPP and EIDL loans for clients, she's been watching the local bankers and figures that, when the politicians are hauled out a LOT of bankers will be among them. There is YUGE dickery going on with the loose financing and .gov ineptitude...

Talking to my son last night...he didn't make the cut and is due to be furloughed at the end of September. The pilot's union had agreed to a 25% pay cut to defer layoffs. He remains hopeful that things will improve....and he is enjoying time at home with his two young daughters.

Flight attendants with less than 21 years of service will be gone.......

Meanwhile, my so-called retirement is spent doing gruelling unpaid labor such as yardwork around the house, as well as vehicle maintenance, and home repairs. Getting a heck of a tan, though.....!

I have taken the early out that was offered, as the company decided they didn't want to pay out my unused sick time, but didn't bother to tell me about it until last week.  I get to keep my insurance until the end of the year, as well as a reduced (as in 70% reduced) paycheck until then, after which I will be considered officially retard.  It probably won't get any better than that, but I will cut the cord immediately  if they decide to start fooling with the pension.  The HR lady told me that their job right now was to get as many people out the door as possible, which is a damn fine thing to tell someone who is about to lose their livelihood.  So much for company loyalty...

On the bright side, I decided to take a few months to unwind and get my s--t together before I go looking for another job.  Wally and I have been clearing out his hangar in preparation for some big RC projects that might actually involve getting paid.  And, the summer Bomber Field fly-in is this weekend and I can actually go!   :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

Well that sucks, but I'm afraid there will be many many more that follow.  The true cost of this whole shit show will not be seen until about fall I suspect,  when unemployment starts running out,   seasonal jobs that remained through the virus scare end and consumer spending craters even more than it is.  With the back drop of an election with 2 issues preoccupying everyone's attention, unless of course something else minor like an asteroid hitting or something else distracts, this is going to be fun.

However the one constant is cussing hay feeders, there is always that.

Apparently, a certain in-flight service group may, or may not, have been told that the position is not a career, and thus expendable......

In any case, I am quite happy not to have to report to anyone ( other than the Mrs.), and I am beyond happy that I no longer have employees!
