As of sometime last night, we're on the market.

Jaime, I really think you should buy my house and spend a few years learning to pronounce certain words.

Yes, you can bring your fire pit thingy. It would go well with the one already here...

If the certain words are cold, ice, freezing, sleet, winter, ya betcha and sssssnnnnssss........sssssssnnsnsnnn.......snnnnnnnn.....then, ummm, no thanks! We only need the firepit thingie once or twice a decade anyway.

Now, you could buy my place, be in God's part of the swamp and enable me to move up to the hill country!

Nice, its all spiffy and everything.   I bet it won't be on the market long.

We have been cleaning moms house out for over month trying to get her moved.  Have to have her gone before listing because supposedly it will sell within days of listing.  I go down tomorrow in fact to organize stuff for an auction house to come and take and load some furniture to bring up to her house up here.  As soon as I get her out we are going to replace all the floors and then it will go on the market.

I may have mentioned once or twice I reallllly don't care for moving, as in I would rather have to go on a blind date with Rosie O'Donnell, or announce I have a ton of evidence on Hillary on the news or drive a nail through my own tongue level of 'don't care for' moving.

Jaime, ya don't know what a dry frigid can do for the skin....

And yeah, I actually suggested trading unanesthetised oral surgury rather than doing this, but no, suffer we must.

This is a true nightmare by the seat of our pants. We have no place to light in CO yet, though we'll likely wind up renting for whatever amount of time it takes to find purchase candidates. There is a half-acre lot on the foot of Cheyenne Mt we're trying to wedge our way into, but it's legacy property left to a young friend by her dad, who passed just 2 months ago. She doesn't let go easy...

We already have showings tomorrow. We hope for competition, given the exodus out of the Minneapolis hellhole. I wanted to list at $325,000, land pimp wanted to go no more than $260, Terrin talked us into the $290 on the chance of a bidding competition. We're not "valued" over the $260, but I figure it's easier to drop a price than raise it. Houses are still scarce, and there isn't a room in this one I haven't laid my magic remodelling hands upon.

I  want  to   be  done  with  this.

Geez, that is a nice place there with great tracts of land! Good luck on the transition!

Jeepers, we're told that an offer is likely today or tomorrow. The "showees" hammered us with questions via our house hussler last night. Before we bought the place in '09, we were told it was on the market for two years.

Terrin got a job offer yesterday from the first outfit she sent a resume.

We "might" have acre of Cheyenne Mt. offered to us for sale from a family friend.

And here's me trying to keep from tossing all these planes and engines and kits in a dumpster. The hobby jerks up here just want me to give this stuff away, none of them will get anything.

I didn't expect stuff to move so fast...

Onepoint

That's why I want my mother out entirely before we even hint its for sale.

House is paid for, no more moves for me until the grandkids are old enough to think I'm not cool anymore.

Colorado, Stetto?  No beach there, but it was part of Texas once!   :icon_mrgreen:

stetto

Yeah Jaime, and I'm that much closer to both Texas and WY. THAT is a pro.

Whether the house is sold or not (no offer, the people who claimed to be interested weren't preapproved and have since faded away :disgust: ), we are out of here between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1. Suddenly I'm panic packing while continuing to make the place done. U-Knothead Van Lines is sending a rep over tomorrow to give us some sense of direction and try to tell me they won't be as miserable an experience as North American was back in 1991.

Terrins job starts Jan 6 as a dept head of an accounting firm across the street from Garden of the Gods. Besides a window office, they decided she is worth about $20,000/year more than she actually asked for. I'm supposed to spend the next two months looking for an orthopedic surgeon who doesn't require the immunosuppressant inoculation papers before they fix my daggone left shoulder...I'm told it may be easier hunting a unicorn...

We have three freezers full of beef, pork and beef & pork accessories. Maybe some chicken and fish in there too.

And STILL we don't have a place to light yet...

Uhg CO, just got back from it, are you sure you are not certifiable?

Mask mandates down there now and they are zealots, I actually got Karened 1st time ever for not wearing one outside in the Costco parking lot. It was a minor kerfuffle as things go, and I'm sure she was just trying to be friendly and remind me they have mask mandates there and the bitchy attitude was simply misinterpreted. Yet she didn't seem to appreciate stating how much I didn't care for her opinion.  Maybe the eye roll and "OH fuck off" was a little harsh, but heart felt and honest, and people respond to honesty apparently, must have been because I'm sure my Santa like face and demeanor was a comfort as she seemed to retreat into her own thoughts (and car), satisfied she helped her fellow man.  :icon_rolleyes:  CO is just surreal anymore.

Other than that, traffic wasn't too bad, gas wasn't too expensive, at least I can keep my spare organs until next trip anyway, and we made it back with no issues.

Moving anywhere in December would not be very high on my list of fun things to do......but ya gotta do what ya  gotta do!

I'll just sit here with a warm mug of hot chocolate and read the Stettoreports.....

stetto

Honcho, hope you don't mind, but I'll be stopping by on my way down there to let you talk me out of it. We found a rental  overlooking Garden of the Gods for almost THREE TIMES our current house p'mnt.

God must know how much I love my wife by now.

Nony, you have no idea...I will chronicle this odyssey one day, you will be mentioned in the dedication section...

Ouch, but not surprising the way the house market is down there.  Might be lucky to have found anything by the time you need, I am hearing horror stories of people in motels for weeks waiting for openings who want to be in Ft Collins and south to Denver along the I-25 Corridor for lack of rentals, especially family size.  In the meantime, is a mass exodus of older CO residents streaming out of it, or going to the fringes.

I just found out the other day one of my cousins, along the front range, Matt's brother in fact, (Matt is the main coconspirator many times in the shenanigans), is moving to Rapid City.  He works for a tech company who said they are not even going to try and run a central office anymore besides for occasional meetings and everyone is going to work remotely.  His wife got a job up there already also remote, after training.  Like you, they have no housing yet and it's like here or CO with everything inflated and being snapped up as soon as it hits the market.

Our realtor just called and let us know why it's been so quiet in the rural house market this last week: Most folks who are looking for rural are also hunters, and we have several overlapping hunting seasons occurring the last two weeks and on till this Sunday with the most popular. But we told her to drop our price a little and see if we can get an offer from that first showee. With prices the way they are down there we just can't handle the mortgage and upkeep here while paying through the nose in the Springs.

Weather's turned good and snotty, as usual the local dweebs are claiming Snowmageddon, but it's a snowstorm. Not much of one to boot.

But it is putting a damper on my outside endeavors...
