Heheh, its not the DF I'm not in love with, its the modern jet thing.  I have been tempted on a couple EDFs because they look so darn cool, but I am still working through the old school warbird infatuation.     Besides I have to either have something I can belly land or be able to handle a dirt runway, looks like a lot of jets won't work well for either.   Yard birds look interesting.

I had the same warbird hangup until I got the Mig.  Landing it is a breeze, just pul the power off and let it come down.  Hold a little up elevator in and she'll just float right in.  You basically have to be dead stick when you touch down, so you don't break the prop.  And it does look really cool in flight.  :icon_mrgreen:

My field is grass, so most of those itty bitty wheels that come with the foamies are too small for ROG takeoffs.  So we've been pulling the gear off and just hand launching them.  Saves the weight...

I still love the warbirds.  I have an FSK Me-109, the GP Corsair, a TT Zero and the Nitro Planes PBY.  The DC-3 is still under restoration and waiting for an upgrade to brushless power.   The Phantom is getting close to being done, and the A-4 is whole again, just need to start getting all the goodies for it....
