Post war....Latin America somewhere??

Certainly a unique look!

The Mexican Skunk works has been busy this week.  After finally getting the B-17 finished and flown, it was time to move on to other projects.  This is a CARF Corsair, just shy of 1/4 scale at 110 inch wingspan.  Friend Wally got it from a doctor who was liquidating his stash.  The original paint job was truly awful, so I finally convinced Wally to let me do this one in my favorite Corsair scheme of all time.  The model represents an FG-1D of the El Salvadoran Air Force (yes, they actually have an air force) during a little fracas with Honduras called the Soccer War that happened in 1969.  We've got to replace some old servos, then dial in the engine (Moki 250 radial) and radio and she'll be ready to fly.

Next in line is an F-82 Twin Mustang night fighter.  Pics will follow

So is anyone else still doing airplane stuff?

Bomber Field Warbird Fly-in is in a few weeks, Sept. 15-17.  Y'all are welcome to come on down, should be a great event!

Onepoint

Nothing than just voyeuring online.  I keep threatening to get out and fly, but have not yet this summer, I can't even find time to get the drone out it seems.

I'm afraid that the bulk of my model aviation endeavors are going to be done vicariously. I do love watching, and Bomber Field is still top of my bucket list, but time and money just aren't there anymore.

But carry on, Carreon!

Unfortunately, committed to a model event about 20,000 miles north of Bomber Field that weekend....
