Onepoint

I'm thinking live webcast since you got nothing better to do.  :icon_biggrin:

now that is a GREAT idea!!

stetto

Sorry guys, but if you want that kind of coverage you'd have to come here and do it anyway, eliminating the necessity...

Unforgettable evening. Ronny raced for the door evey time someone would come in. Don't think I've ever met such a sociable guy (well, not since Big Mike at the Gathering).

He adopted Kaitlyn. I don't know if description would serve...

...And what a show. What a talent. The man's been at this for 30+ years and I only heard of it now...I was embarrassed...

I have a new and intense pet peeve: No shows. People who call and excitedly guarantee that they'll be there, then no last minute call with apologies, simply no show. Close friends no less...We had 17 of them last night, and I've "learned" over the last few years that I don't care if your tender feelings are hurt. Terrin tells me to "try and contain" myself...Whatever.

So my new tag line when people RSVP is going to be "DON'T TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO HEAR...YOU WOULDN'T LIKE ME WHEN YOU TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO HERE..."

nice!!! Looks like it was a fun evening....

- I like the tie! -

I presume the young lady is the daughter formally known as Puddin'face ??

stetto

No, she reminds me periodically that it is still PuddinFace.

Onepoint

That looks like a good time, just from the looks on the faces.

It was unsettling, how smooth everything went and how much electricity there was in the room. After all, he's just a bit-player and occasional bad guy in the movies and sides as a folksinger, right? He glommed on to Puddin (and vice-versa) the minute he met her. I suppose it helps that he has a 10-year-old grand daughter. He even asked us to send him a copy of one of the pics of him and her.

It was a typical concert in one sense: They came, they played, they left. Yeah, a lot of handshaking and "gladtomeetcha's" and stuff like that, and Ronny held court in the kitchen for an hour before the show, telling a few stories and answering questions about movie star life, but WE got little time with the man. I really would have liked some on-on-one face time, maybe jammed a song or two...

He did let me play his one-of-a-kind hand made guitar. What a beauty!

it is awesome when you can rise above the everyday routine and responsibilities of daily life  ('specially with your health burden..) and arrange an evening like that....which for a home venue would be a major, major concert!!

Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back  (if you can reach it...... :eusa_think:)

...Back from a 6 day unintended hiatus from internet life...MiFis suck.

Yeah, the "evenings like that" are cherished, but out-of-pocket, so we' ll have to be fairly grinchy with the number of dates we can book. We did find out that a headcount was taken, we had 48 in the house, not including the help. We could have stuffed another 20 into the room.

I'm going to try and capitalize on more major-"star" attractions for next summer, and book the up-and-comers between, heck, we might become a preferred venue, if we don't declare bancruptsy first. :disturbed:

So A gig at the  Stettodome is good for the resume of an up'n'comer ??

That's what we're attempting to nurture.

Went to the winery today to thank them for cutting us a deal on product--Wound up hangin' out for a couple hours. Great folks there!

balsum fractus

so, what if you charged those 48 people $10 a head to cover refreshments?........

Onepoint

Spend it like its someone else's money!  That's what I do, and look at us at Fubar hill. :eusa_doh:  :disturbed:

Seriously though, you are buying memories, kind of hard to put a price on that.
