Well well well them; Now we are to expect upwards of five inches over the next four days. It's 90 degrees w/70% humidity, it'd be nice if we got a break. Went from March to July overnight.

Yup, I'm watering anyway.

Onepoint

All I know is I mowed more already this year than I did in all of 2011.

Day 3 and we so far have a total of one and a half inches. Subtract the three, carry the seven, compensate for Chicken Little syndrome...Huh, they're practically right on!

Yah, way green way fast here too. I'm cutting asparagus twice/day now!

Onepoint

We have had about a couple tenths, but man its been pretty dicey dodging the hail and tornadoes.  I watched one from a near perfect vantage point yesterday, many miles away with it backlit by the sun.   It was kind of neat to see,   the top was a dark funnel, the bottom a glowing while tail that snaked along the ground.  30 minutes later we got a tornado warning.  No, ya think?  It never got close enough to get a good picture without a 1000x zoom, which is fine by me.

The rest of the excitement was wondering if we get any of the quarter size hail that has been coming through the last couple days, like 2am this morning with the thunder and lightening waking me up.   Which BTW hit a tree along the county road a couple miles east on state line road and left a big white strip down it.

Onepoint

Well that was fun, in case I missed fall or early spring we had dark over cast skies and 55 degree highs with drizzle for 2 days.   I guess I should feel lucky just south about 70 miles they had tornadoes.

We're actually getting some realistic precip amounts, +/- a half inch every three days or so. Nothing too severe to report here but north and south of us folks have gotten pummeled. The quack grass is already hip high and I find myself mowing about once a week.

This last winter took a toll on the trees this year though. The ten feet of frost and three months of thirty below crippled our three year old honey crisp, no blossoms, half sized leaves and very sparse...The goodland, only 20 feet away and the same age, is lush compared and full of blossoms. The old flowering crab had blossoms on it for one day, the petals all fell off the next. And some of my prized wild chokecherry trees have the ugliest, toxic looking fruit on them I've ever seen.

Oh, and the lilacs refused to bloom at all...

I sure hope global warming starts soon!

Onepoint

The trees here look pretty sparse, especially the tops and west sides because they got hammered twice with hail early.  The grass and weeds seem to have not minded though.

Wow. Two and quarter inches of slow soaker today. I hope potatoes like wet, that end of the garden is a LAKE! Had a big old doe whitetail in the yard around noon. I was sorely tempted. No meat in the freezer.

Hay! Happy Father's Day!!!

Nother three inches yesterday. Thirty mph south winds for the last week, no end in site. Corn in the eighth acre is flat on the ground, as is the brussel sprouts and anything high profile.

Rain forecast today, tomorrow, temps in the fifties. Welcome, July!

Onepoint

Its trying to be summer here, 95 yesterday, barely 80 today, but dry and sunny.  We did get 2" in about 45 minutes a week or 2 ago, a couple showers in between that was result of dodging the hail bullet.  Can't complain too much all in all.

Hokey smokes! July 14 and we're looking at FIFTIES for highs. The corn & tomatoes could sure us a little AlGore style warming right now.

Onepoint

Heh, yeah I just came in from changing water and at 50 degrees my  hands and where I splashed on my pants were wet which made a brisk drive back into the yard from a 1/2 mile away.  Just a couple days ago I thought I was going to melt.  Its been this way all summer so far, hot then exceptionally cool for this time of year.   We have had thunderstorm in the mornings, and then clear off in the afternoon, which is the opposite of what we normally get.

Don't you know that AlGore has said that cooling is a result of warming?

We have a small splasher pool that we bought when the kids were smaller......had to drag it out and set it up so we good get some relief from the heat...
Air conditioning is a waste of money this far north.......but not this year! We don't got it, so have to make do with an inflatable Koi pond......

Onepoint

We are supposed to have 65 for a high today... a HIGH.  its also foggy and damp this morning, feels a lot like early fall.   :eek5:
