 Its winterrrrr!

Its been cool, but high 50s and 60s mostly, now the bottom is falling out today, by Wednesday the low is supposed to -3 and stay in the singles and teens and then climbing up to the still sub freezing clear into next week.   :errrr:

Arrgh, in just the last 30 minutes since I posted this, we have had the wind come up to 25mph and snowing hard enough to be near like  blizzard.  :disgust:

Deer season here...Highs in the upper 20s, wind NW at 10. Not bad, except there's no deer. We have a dusting of snow, and there are tracks, but nothing coming through during legal shooting hours. I quit early today just to write this post...OK, no, it was neighbor kids playing in the woods where I hunt. What is wrong with some parents? No blaze orange, about six little turd droppers racing up and down the hills on the west side of the property.

That storm you got, Eric? We're at the northern edge. Will see the low temps but not the snow. I was wishing for an extra couple inches for tracking purposes, but there's nothing to track. Let's hope they move in, there's a lot of shooting going on in the distance, and the guy who built the road on Dad's property has abandoned the place for some hunting digs he bought 50 miles south, so I'm alone in these woods for the first time...Uh, that would be me & the dang neighbor kids... :eusa_wall:

Is there a limit on neighbor kids? I wonder what they would dress out?  :icon_biggrin:

We didn't get a lot of snow, most of its moving still, so if you see track there is probably something in them if you look far enough.  I definitely did not miss wind and cold.  Of course I did not miss that 100 degree stuff either.  Maybe I can import some Hawaii weather.

The rule in Minnesnowta is "One layer of clothing for every degree below zero". They have one for above zero too, but that one has to do with how long the legs of your shorts should be...

Last day of firearm deer, five above with 30 mph west winds. This. Is. Just. Miserable.

If our freezer wasn't devoid of meat I'd say screw it...

Yeah, we had a single day of respite since last Monday where it got to about 20, but everyday is either plain cold, or has a nice stiff breeze to make it feel even more bitter, like this morning.  Sunny and 20 and 25mph and all the snow wants to relocate in piles.

'Sposed to be in the 40s later in the week though, but I am skeptical, it globally warmed us good so far this winter already, even after a long nice fall.

We had a mini warm spell, it rained!!  Snow was all gone.......for about 12 hours, then we got a refill.

Wonderful weekend, mid-40s, started raining last night. Froze and turned to snow with NW winds @ 35. Roads are testy at best, just in time for a lot of driving I have to do this week...

We haven't had much wet, but the air is moving pretty fast and its a bit chilly.  I had to take a load of hay to CO overnight, coming home against the wind I used almost as much fuel as going down loaded.  :icon_neutral:

So we had a skiff of snow last night, but you wouldnt know it by the local computer model meteorologists. They had us buried under untold feet of snow by now. But their enablers, the NWS, issues warnings and End of the World advisories with just about every snowflake that falls.

I must not be the only one to complain tho...One of the local stations has actually begun advertising their weather reports as "No hype, no scare tactics, no sky is falling, just accurate forecasting", which though refreshing, is still not very accurate.

Suppose to be above 30 tomorrow, which a lot closer to average than 10. But only for a day, then back to sub-zero lows...

Yeah it looked like you got the cold end of the stick again, we were probably near 60, but windy,   supposed to be even warmer tomorrow then 20s  for highs Sunday.

Frazz

Had the grandkids home this thanksgiving.  It was 75 today and believe it or not... we had a bunch of kites.  Man did they have fun flying them today.  We had about a 10-12 mph wind and was perfect for flying them.

PS whilst all of ya alls were shivering and cussing that record cold a couple weeks ago,  :eusa_whistle: wife and I were in a warm spot almost sweating, what with all that turquoise water all about.  :eusa_whistle:
To understand true love, lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour and then see which one is glad to see you when you come back

You guys enjoy your tropical weather while you can......The ice age is coming your way... -34 with a biting 20 knot wind.
