Jaime, I'm amazed at you. Have you run out of Grecian Formula or have you really aged that much since Oct.?

Your pic with that Legend A-1Skyraider (Korean colors) on the fake book looks like you done aged, boy! I'd have commented but they have me on a time out for a bit.....again.

I sure as hell ain't gettin' any younger Stetto, next birfday will be number 64.  All the guys on the Legend team razz me constantly about being the senior member of the group.  It's been a while since we saw each other last, that was in Austin I don't know how long ago.  But, I don't feel older, this retard gig is the best thing I ever did.  I'm slowly undoing the damage all that time at the airline did!   :disturbed:

How's your hearing?

Mine suffered greatly and it is getting worse.... too much time spent underneath those 3 running JT8D's........

Nony, I was pretty careful about wearing hearing protection, but I've still got 10% hearing loss on the right and a little less on the left.  Any really high pitched noise, like a baby screeching or really high guitar or flute musical notes hurts to listen to.  Those old jet engines were pretty rough, and the bunch of round motors before the jets didn't help much either.  But sometimes I think most of that loss came from 15 years of sitting next to a co-worker who did not possess an inside voice!

Stetto, I'm not as gray as that pic looks.  I was in bright sunshine!  :icon_mrgreen:

We wore hearing protection, but not a lot of thought went into preventing long term hearing loss back in those days.  I've lost most of the high frequency range. WCB blamed the loss on age and wouldn't pay for hearing aids...

Wait, you guys can still hear? I didn't think that was allowed past 50 or so.

Funny, my doc sez I have perfect hearing. I played in one of the loudest road bands in the circuit for years WITHOUT protection. Tough eardrums, I guess...

And Jaime, I was razzing, and you know it. I'm a spry 62 and have been pretty darn gray since before we met at the Roundrock Gathering. Trust me, I was deflecting... :disturbed: :disturbed: :disturbed:

Nice model, BTW. What's next?

I know, Stetto!  I just always follow my Grandma's advice - you can't prevent getting older, so just take care of yourself and enjoy it!  The next Legend project is a 120 inch B-17 that is in prototype stage now.  There's also an 85 inch Corsair in the works, and I'm working on getting the boss to consider an 85-90 inch Ki-61 "Tony".

Nony, about 15 years into my airline mistake, they started testing our hearing each year.  Five years ago, there was a big flap about hearing loss in the maintenance department (for some reason, they were surprised how prevalent it was), so they gave me some custom fit molded ear protectors that are absolutely amazing.  I have a really good pair of the ear muff type as well.  Our company insurance covered work related hearing loss, but I'm pretty sure my forthcoming government issue medicare crap won't even come close to anything like that.

Honcho, what did you say??   :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah our company did not start testing until several years after I got off the ramp. I had noticed hearing difficulty by then, but was not smart enough to do anything about. My first company hearing test confirmed what I had noticed, but again, I was not smart enough to follow through at that time. I did not put a claim in until I was 59, but by that time they just wrote it off as natural loss due to age...

Yeah! Quit mumblin', and speak up!!!

I just wish there were floating subtitles in daily life.

Me too, if they were big enough so I could read them!   :disturbed:
