Heh heh Roger, I lived in AR, OK & MO in my evile youth. I knew what you meant by "tank".

Don't let all of Texas wash away--I'd like to come back sometime.

Oh, and with all the wet going on around us, we've accumulated a whole 3/8" in the last week.

Monday night was pretty bad here, but we didn't flood.  My rain gauge tops at five inches and it was full this morning, but I think we got more than that as well.  The kids and grandkids all stayed home yesterday, youngest daughter's cul-de-sac was under water and my friend's hangar out at Hooks airport flooded.  Compared to the water they got all around us, we were lucky.  What always amazes me is that we have underpasses that routinely flood to 15 or 20 feet and no one has thought to do anything about it.  Looking at some of those, you'd think it never rained around here....

More rain in the forecast.

As of this morning we have received 8 inches of rain since Saturday evening.  We are wet, wet, wet!  Both tanks are full and running around.

Man....its mid April, and we should be shovelling snow, but it is dry, windy, and dusty....with fire bans out already......we could use some of that rain!

We'll see what we can do.  8) Going to be 80+ here today, the mud is starting to isolate in the low spots. Just in time for more wet snow next week I hear.

stetto

Wow, alert the media! Stetto has no complaints for a change. Temps are mild  (got up to 80 once so far), mostly 60s, a little drizzle now and then, frosty/dewy mornings, winds finally calm, no catastrophic meteorological events scheduled, I can get a way early jump on the outdoor work....yeah, call somebody!

Thank you Honcho......we got rain! And a bit of snow.....supposed to continue for the next few days. It is very, very welcomed!

Yah, we're getting ours too. Not 20+ inches, but if what's in the rain guage had come down as snow we'do be in the 15 inch range. Expecting another  +/- inch through the day.

I have a full pickup load of unsplit firewood that needs unloaded. When can you guys be here? :disturbed:

balsum fractus

Half a cord......shouldn't take more than 10 - 12 minutes to unload......if you are properly motivated.   :icon_biggrin:   :icon_biggrin:

Yeah......but you got teenagers n'est ce pas? 😉

I had my fill of throwing, piling, cutting, and splitting wood as a youngster..it was our only source of heat in the winter, so got lots of practice every year....now I could toss two, maybe 3 small logs, and I would have to sit down and rest.......

I hear them burly Wyoming ranchers are pretty good at unloading trucks.......

😀

Onepoint

Heh, yeah they are, but I have trouble with it still.  We cheated this year, I had wood brought in.  That's way too easy to get used to.  Of course it looks like we will run the thing until August at the rate its going, cold and rain, and even snow predicted for the next 4 days.

My teenagers turned urbanite on me. The boy has discovered the freedom of automobility, and while the Puddinface loves to drive the mower, any hand tools of any size, weight or shape might as well be soaking in the pit beneath the outhouse. I thought about spending the $$ on a splitter, but while my arms work the wedges and 5 lb sledge is my splitter.

The wood is "junk", mostly basswood, but it will do fine for the firepit out back....

I tilled the 8th acre on Saturday. I have NEVER been able to till before the third week of May. I planted onions and dry beans yesterday. We've been picking asparagus for over a week. I am so into this global warming thing!!! Bring it on!
