Danged if I can remember the name, but there is an AFB not too far from Rushmore with a free museum...mostly SAC stuff, but they have aircraft too.....
We be heading south after Labor Day and will be somewhere in the vicinity middle of the week...if you can drag your feet and stretch out your vacation a bit....

Honcho, not sure exactly how we're going to meander up there.  We set the destinations we wanted to see and the route will likely be whatever strikes us at the moment to get where we want to be with probable stops at whatever looks interesting.  Pat's getting better about my visiting airplane stuff as long as she has some kind of diversion and she's always quick to find out that even when we're not looking, I can manage to find an airplane somewhere.  I'm pretty sure I might be able to wander in your direction, though.  Do I have a good phone number for you still?

If you have the old roster its the same one or I can PM you it if not.   The problem with out west here is there is lots of stuff to see, with a lot of space in between.

Jaime.... there is the almost-famous hayfeeder museum in Eastern Wyoming, plus some nice folks to talk to, and a few animals of various species.....

Definitely worth the side trip......

Sooooo......is anyone else going to make the trip? ......or would another time be better?

Life is short, Nony. My plan is to come out.

...just don't be changin' dates on me... :disturbed:

Whooo hooo! No geoducks this time...!

Hoping the smoker-meister can make it!

Sad news (it never ends). Terrin's foster father passed away last night. She's flying to CO Springs in 2 hours.

Everything travel and otherwise is now up in the air. I bought her plane ticket with the $$ I was going to travel to WY on.

Stay tuned. It's only the end of July, there are 5 more months....

Onepoint

Just go pluck some more off your tree, seems that's what everyone around think we do.

So sorry to hear that Stetto...

Bad news....really bad news, I'm afraid....our out-of-country medical insurance expires in 2 days, and we have to seek out another carrier. All of them have a 90 day waiting period before coverage begins!
I don't qualify for short term travel insurance because I have had too many prescriptions in the past 12 months...(even though none of them were for anything serious, and I am perfectly healthy - it doesn't matter...)

So regretfully, I have to postpone til next year. ( the end of November probably is not the best time to visit Wyoming...). I hope this does not impact any plans that any of you had made...if so, I'm sorry.

Onepoint

That's too bad Nony, but yes the way this year is going, WY will be closed by Nov even if fubar hill is still open. Maybe we can all work it out next year.  But the door is always open to who ever can find us!

I'm sorry to hear that, Nony. I am so needing a trip out of here myself.

Some days I gotta wonder how many shoes can drop in one year: My 83 year old mom had a stroke at church on August 4, they found a completely blocked vein in her head they had to remove. Come to find out she's been having small strokes for at least two years.  Some suggest that may explain some of her behavior.

All I know is that I can't go anywhere, checking the airspace over my head for shoes every day.
