Thinking we might do a road trip down south next summer. Union Pacific is supposed to have the restored Big Boy running out of Cheyenne by then, then might swing down to Denver and catch the nhra race, and if there is some sort of ranchy place on the way, we might do a cultural exchange thing...

Lot of "if's" between now and then, but that's what we're thinking....

Heh, well I imagine there will still be some ranchy type place still around by then, inhabited by tired old people no doubt, but I suspect they'll keep the light on for ya if you happen by this way.

Gotta hand it to you though, I can't remember what I had for breakfast, and can't plan ahead in time for lunch, especially since its already supper time , its like you have a machine for a brain or something....  :disturbed:

Hmm, I have what seems to be a constant intent to get out that way. At some point we'll be moving the PuddinFace to Denver, but the timeframe doesn't want to solidify. T says I can go out there anytime I want, but she wants me to have a "new" truck to do it with. She doesn't trust my 20 year Ram, which other than gas oil and tires has hardly cost me a dime in all those years.

Let's refrain from memory commentary, please. It's a touchy subject for some of us, I just don't remember who...

Same deal for me...just replaced my 15 year old gmc with a new one, so now we can go places with out worrying about age related breakdowns....

Ha ha, speaking of age related breakdowns, it took my old Norske sawbones over 10 years to do it, but my blood pressure is finally clocking in at numbers I sported when I was 30. Now we work on the 75 pounds that won't leave....

The Mighty Purple Power Ranger is 15 years old and still going strong.  I don't have any trouble taking it on road trips, but I am picky about which ones I'll take her on.  The better half says I can have a new one in a few more years...

Right now, the only thing bothering me about getting old is the arthritis in my hands.  I can't write or sign my name to save my life anymore.  Maybe someone will come up with one of those bionic arms to fix that.

The brain damage from having been in the aviation industry for 40 years is permanent, so I'm told....  :disturbed:

Anyone closer to a gathering date proposal?

And yeah, you Texas yay-hoos, y'all come! Ride along in Carl's pig-smokin' trailer!!

Sounds like a most excellent idea.

Still tentative, but it looks like either around July 16 th or the following week (23rd)...it will be a mid week thing, I'm afraid.......

We might even be thawed out by then!

Seems like we're itching for a road trip this year. Anytime (except Oct-Nov). Anywhere (unless it's really cold).
